Modesto's best chiropractor Dr Dan Anderson wants to talk to you about dealing with neck pain, sound familar? The fact is that not everyones causes for neck pain are the same, but the ways we can prevent chronic neck pain are the same and quite simple to do. Dr Dan Andersons reasearch shows that the first step to fixing the problem is to get a neck evaluation, how can we fix our neck pain without knowing whats wrong in the the neck or spine. The most simple way to help prevent chronic neck pain is to do daily neck stretches that help keep the muscles loose and active. There are two main stretches that make sure all of the muscles in your neck are active and strong; The "sitting chin tuck" and the "lying chin tuck". Dr Dan Anderson explains that the sitting chin tuck would be a good place to start by just simply tucking your chin towards your chest while trying to keep your head from moving forward. The lying chin tuck should be done by laying on your chest, and like the sitting chin tuck tilt your chin to your chest and lift your neck off the ground. Ten seconds should be the most time you hold your neck up, while progressing over time to twenty seconds, these should also be done in sets of ten working up to twenty. Remember that it is important not to strain your neck doing these exercises, if you feel fatigue in your neck muscles then you should stop. Take note of how long it took untill muscle fatigue set in, and do your sets based on that time. Modestos best chiropractor Dr Dan Anderson says that the sitting chin tuck should be done prior to trying the lying chin tuck. Dr Dan Anderson wants to remind you that research has shown that the muscles in our neck are like any other muscle in our body. Wtith long term pain or injury, the muscles get weak and tired faster. By first "balancing" the weak muscles and increasing their endurance, you will be prepared to progress to more challanging strengthening exercises. Modesto's best chiroprator Dr Dan Andersons research shows that by combining the neck strengthing exercise with chiropractic care will lead to the best outcomes and preventions of chronic neck pain.
